The modem world and its key players has changed completely out of recognition since the first days of 300 baud, even moreso with the advert of affordable broadband. For older consultants like myself Rockwell, Pace and Hayes were practically household names. The latter two were swallowed as they died and Rockwell moved onto better things, though their reference chips are still the basic of any modem I consider worth a glance and even then, only for emergency and the need for faxes. Given the above I will reduced this to a pure list of links. I am of the firm opinion that if you haven't got the original drivers for a modem it's easier to get a new one than find them! I also funny expect the marjority of these links to fail, but that's the nature of the game. Any of these that don't/haven't expanded to broadband etc are history... 56k.com has a huge links of links to modems manufacturers and their driver and initialisation strings pages. Essential!
