Octek (Ocean)	The { www.ocean-usa.com } link's gone the way of the Dodo and the domain is up for sale too. I REALLY hate faded links! Anyway, Octek are still going strong and, like many others (SARS fears aide) will be at Computex in June (2003). May 2005: Unlike so many others they are still going.
PC Chips	You haven't lived until you've had a big order (= low margin) and found that 18 out of every 20 boards are faulty in every batch. That was then, this is now. I haven't forgiven them, but if you want cheap and functional boards, these are to be recommended. Try also PC Chips For mind me Protac (the official distributers in the UK) are a waste of space and the site is down more often than not! (Protac 01908 481 900)

Pine - XFX Force	[www.pineusa.com] redirects to a new Pine division. Looks very buff. Being a tree hugger at heart I've always liked Pine just for their name. That said, if you go to trade shows you'll generally find their staff friendly and knowledgeable, certainly this was true in the past and I used to swear by their network cards.

QDI Computer Inc.	These beggers REALLY annoy me sometimes. Never mind I don't especially rate their motherboards, they keep changing the url, which is unforgiveable! They don't even bother to list there website in the contact details of trade journals. Besides I'm not tolerent when they are faulty for customers, but well they fail on my systems...

Shuttle	I've used them in the past on price but they have a new one out (Aug 2002) based in the SIS 648 chipset and I'm really eager to get delivery of one. Try also Shuttle - Spacewalker
SiS	Hmm. Rocking chipsets, aye, but I never knew they manufacturered mobo's. I'll have to confirm this - or not
Soltek	Nice boards, fast too. April 2003: They even have three i865 Springdale boards ready ahead of most of the competition. I dare say they have a i875 board too. Kiss goodbyte to i845's in the coming months
Soyo	They used to be at www.soyo.nl. What is the problem with these motherboard guys. Sheesh! I know margins are slim but surely they can afford to keep a domain name and just put a re-direct link on the page! There again, check out the garish site of their partner M Technology (US)!

SuperMicro Computer	They come well recommended but I once had a batch with 3 out of 4 failing - and one was for my computer. Never used them since. Can't knock their server cases though, they are built to last. I use the sc750 full tower chassis myself
