| Activator | In today’s business world every company is looking for more effective, efficient ways of working and in the tools they provide their employees to carry out their work. Virtual Private Networking is playing a major role in this and is being embraced by more organisations everyday. Activator UK have developed a managed service for the deployment and control of VPN client policy files and uses the embedded IPSec software available within Windows and the de-facto industry standard from SafeNet.www.activator-uk.net/default.asp?page=10051 Bold words for a company that doesn't appear to recognise the existance of any browser that isn't Microsoft's Internet Explorer (they certainly haven't cross-browser checked it). Nor have they even kept a check on the pages that are even working with MSIE, becuase the page I looked at was missing at was missing nearly all the images! I did, of course, email them and they are rectifying the errors I pointed out. |

| Network Everywhere | May 2005: Despite offering wireless routers, the site is dated. The copyright message is for 2002 and the articles relate to co-axial and 10BaseT networks. While there is nothing wrong with this - even now I'm helping my dentist migrate from 10base2 - it the fact there's no mention of faster, far more common, equipment like 100baseT in their articles.* *Noting that they do sell products like a 10/100 5 port starter kit. Howvever… the wireless router is only 802.11b. While the rest of the world is moving toward 100baseT, Gigabit (1000BaseT) and even 10 Gigabit networking, they still have this at a prominent page: Thin coax (also known as 10Base2) is great for small home or office networks with two or three computers. Similar to the cabling used to connect a VCR to a TV set, coax cabling is inexpensive and easy to set up. www.networkeverywhere.com/educateme/wireanetwork.asp At present 100baseT, even Gigabit is provided with the cheapest of new motherboards and similar PCI cards at only a few pound. Nowadays I wouldn't even know where to look for coax cards! |
| Network Peripherals | Hmmm. I had Network Peripherals under [ www.npix.com ] but that a proken link I found link, suppposedly to the NPI but thats New Product Innovations, Inc, which I'm positive is a completely different company. One to fathom another day I guess |
