I keep doing courses in college and every time I do I end up rummaging around for links and info on design packages, given it's the summer holidays I figured I'd take an hour out and start copying the links here

DAZ Productions - Quality 3D for Art and Animation
Besides being the new owners of (Corel) Bryce, this place is a "must visit" domain.
As well as it's own products and third party like Lightwave, it sells a phenomenal selection and meshes, plugins and add-ons for Bryce and Poser, amongst others. Never really had the time to get into 3D art myself, but just browsing this place makes me want to study it at college. The level of stuff your can create if you are into SciFi or fantasy is, well, just go, look. I often spend an hour or two here, just looking what's available. When I've got my network upgraded (again) and the camera gear sorted, I'm going on a spending spree here!
