« Learning to speak Spanish »
Introduction
I'm actually not bad at Spanish… OK, I'm terrible becuase I've barely used it in twenty years, but I can read it well enough. When I've refreshed my French I'm get fluent in Spanish again. Here's the start of it.
One of the best ways to learn Spanish is your video library!
Most DVD's now are multi-lingual, many offering Spanish as an option. Sit back, watch your favourite movies in Spanish, with or without subtitles. Lazy mans way to education. Works fantastically for under 5's too.
In a similar way, use Google Spain to get search results.
Follow the questions to Yahoo! Answers on the Spanish site
Search the video clip in Spanish instead of English using YouTube Spain and the advance options on Google Video to search for clips.
Borrow the Spanish Linguaphone and Hugo CD's (etc) from your local library.
I also listen to Spanish radio on the Internet. Loads of channels to choose from.
Well, I'm sure you get the idea. Studying dry academic books
and tutorials can be boring, watching and/or listening to them in real usage is infinitely better as you learn - and retain - more due to the immersion nature of the learning experience.
- BBC: Learn Spanish
Whether for holidays or work, this will soon have you chatting like a native, if you put the effort in.
Cannot recommend it enough!
