DC Views
I got an email from Hans Wind about his site and wandered over. It uses frames (which I detest) but for the level of information available, it's a "must bookmark" site. There's also loads of articles and tutorials. Excellent stuff.
It gets an extra brownie point helping me how to save £700 on the price of a Nikon D100... It's NOT rip off Britain? And I'm a ruddy faerie! Stateside the D100 is $1700 (£1110). Here the identical model is a whacking £1,800+ ($2,799)
- Cameras.co.uk
Specs, advice, links to a price search engine (so so), and more.
Certainly worth the odd visit or two
- Digital Camera History
Strange name given that it is a very good history lesson in photography from the early 1800's onwards. It doesn't appear to have been updated since 1998 suggesting they have lost interest, especially given the exponential year on year growth of digital camera's. That said this is a "must visit" page for Arts and Media / Photography students.
- Digital Camera Reviews
Sister site to Cameras.co.uk and Photographers.co.uk
- Digital Photography Now
- Digital Photography Review
Brilliant. The D100 review is better than any magazine review I've ever seen.
- E-Photozine
- F32
A community for Large Format photographers
- Fox Talbot Museum of Photography
- Gallery

I'm going out on a limb here!
Gallery is a free picture loader and I haven't actually tried it...
That said, I've seen it used several times and it's brilliant. It's more of a web programmers thing and need's PHP support to work but if you are thinking of putting a lot of your shots on the net, then I've yet to see anything better. I'll be adding it here over the summer and you'll see what I mean.
See it here running screenshots for the game Mythica
- Infrared Photography FAQ
All you ever wanted to know about Infrared photography
(May redirect here: www.cocam.net/CoCamWS/Infrared/INFRARED.HTM )
- Mike Ware's Alternative Processes
Way over my head! For those with a hankering for old and new darkroom chemistry
- National Museum of Photography, Film and Television
- Nikon Owners Clubs
At £59.00 a year you'd have to be puddled or seriously serious about Nikon to join as virtually everything on the sight can probably be found everywhere.
That said, it does include a subscription to Nikon Owner Magazine. I used to get this many years ago and it is/was really good, but put things into perspective here.
I might consider paying for a magazine subscription, but I'm be damned if I'll pay to enter a website without a really, really good reason - like massive trade discounts.
One to miss for me, but I've included it for completeness.
- PanOguide - A guide to panoramic photography
Not something I'm interested in, but I've included it for those who are.
- Photoassist
"THE" resource for photographers looking for assistants and assistants looking for work. Apparently they have over 700 assistants registered around the country.
- Photo-I - a dedicated site for digital photographers.
The reviews of Epsons 2100 Photo printer and 3200 Perfection scanner are especially good.
- PhototographyMania - Photo search engine. Listing for photographers too.
- Photolink
Sod's Law strikes! After nearly finishing this page I found this link to Photolink.de which has a phenomenal link of links covering manufacturers, on-line magazine, agencies and a who's who of photographers.
- Photographers.co.uk
Formats, competitions etc. Seems useful at a glance
- Photography Monthly
- Photography Review (US)
- Photomag
- Photo Sites UK - Masses of links
Brilliant now they have fixed a problem with run-time errors
A "must visit regular" site
- Rob Galbraith
A site for Digital photographers
- S-Spline PRO
(May redirect to www.trulyphotomagic.com )
The best professional magnification software for digital images...
Specially designed for the demanding image processing professional!
Not tried it yet, but the effects promise to be awesome. The Pro version is only about 129 Euros. There is a trial demo.
- Stereoscopy - The world of 3D imaging
Not something I'm interested in, but I thought I'd include it for completeness.
- TrekEarth.
If, like me, you have a strong interest in photography, or just enjoy great pictures, then you have to visit Trekearth
A LockerGnome newsletter gave me the heads up on this one and it's a cracker. Basically it's about 15,000 photographs taken around the world, all catalogued, organised and commented and of a very high overall quality. When I get a minute I'll join and submit a few myself.

Et viola! A handful of pictures including Blackpool tower.
Hey mam, we can see us 'ouse from up 'ere!
If you are looking for stock pictures of landmarks you'll be largely disappointed, but I think it's great.
- Total Digital Photography
(UK) magazine
New section: Photo Stock libraries
I'll build this up as I remember, but following a request, here the first links…
- Fotosearch - Stock photography and footage
Foto Search Stock Images allows users to search from more than fifty quality graphic design vendors at one site. They can find royalty-free photography, font graphics, clipart, illustrations, footage, and vector maps.

That said, rather disgusted that they feel the need to apparently extort the UK…
