03 Dec 1999
All pages now optimised to suit viewing at 800x600 resolution
Began code tidy of all pages:
- Adding "Prime Sites" link
- adding "date last edited" and "file location" (view Source to see)
- revising meta links (a search engine thing).
- stating image sizes in code - makes pages load faster.
- where suitable, resizing images and converting to progressive encoded .gif's
- and finally, some minor html fixes.
29 Nov 1999
Major revision of this "About Us" section and the "Home page"
Added Prime Time page and am re-coding pages to take this into account

Full site revision in progress (last major revision: 3 May '99)
- Adding MAJOR fantasy PBeM section
- Adding Web Rings section
- Expanding reference pages
- Checking links through
- Tidying up ADSL pages (still!)
- Optimising layout. I've set the screen to fit 800x600.
- Where possible, replacing images with better copies - smaller, brighter and sharper.
- Adding the following sections:
- Primetime - the best of the web
- Baldurs Gate II(awaiting release)
- Icewind Dale (awaiting release)
- Neverwinter Nights (awaiting release)
- PlaneScape Torment (awaiting release)
- Cheap Internet access in the UK (consolidating data)
It will look better are higher resolutions and involve some scrolling at lower.
I've also changed the background and our logo.
What do you think?
Plans for 2000
[Δ]
These include...
A number of activities to promote the site, the first being joining some web-rings. I may also start a XDSL web-ring too. There are two [] [] already, but they are in German and Norwegian - and one of them is a broken link!
- Start a campaign against BT until the UK gets parity Internet access with the rest of the civilised world. If it means stripping rights to abuse ownership of the local loop, all well and good
- Designing a (weekly) newsletter
- Designing a pseudo-live (Forgotten Realms) fantasy village
This will evolve with time. An Inn, then perhaps a wood-cutter, a small shrine and so on.
But it will live and breath. The tavern keeper, the blacksmith, the furrier can be YOU. I'll flesh out the details in the coming few weeks, but generally, it will launch in the Millennium* and me an email thing.
(*Age of Aquarius and time thing, rather than any Y2000 non-sense) - Here's a very rough example.
- The Inn opens of a minor trade road on the Sword Coast.
- A wandering trader visits (emails wishes)
- A Cleric drops in (emails wishes / comments)
- Ranger drops by (emails warning about a minor evil)
- Cleric does his / her bit with a big club and opens a shrine (emails wish to be a part of things).
- So it grows.
- I'll handle all the HTML design - artistic input greatly would be nice - and let it evolve. It will, hopefully, read like a story. Click on the Inn to enter and follow the options. et al.
This domain is added to and improved DAILY.
Click (for-organising.html") for some recent links and information I've yet to work into the site.
(June 2003 - for-organising has since been integrated)
At nearly 12 months old (October '99) the site is still in it's early stages and it will take a while to input and check all the information I have - several thousand pages worth, in fact!.
Small changes (like fixes and the odd new link) will occur daily, with larger updates occurring weekly.
Full site revisions will be about once a year, now, due to workloads.
I am currently updating all the pages to improves looks and navigation.
See the RPG section for an idea...
Progress for the next few months will be a tad slow, due to College.
