22nd August 2006: Admitted to MAU
*** Diary index ***
Admitted to the Medical Assessment Unit
Went for my bi-annual apointment with Dr Steiger, my neurology consultant and mentioned my blood results to him. Fortunately, it turns out he was a renal (kidney) doctor at Nottingham Hospital before concentrating on neurology. He took one look at the results, phoned through to Dr Schulz, a nephrology consultant at the Royal, and had me admitted immediately to the MAU.
One doctor at least seemed to give me a thorough examination.
Got settled in and had several more blood tests taken.
Mum and dad visited, as did Louise and the kids, dropping off essentials.
