11th October 2006: Stupid junior doctor!
*** Diary index ***
Stood up, again!
No-one available to do the bladder scan today, it seems. Ho hum.
Notes aren't clear but I think we are talking the right day. The same young doctor came round and took my blood. The fact I am on daily bloods, taken by a plubologist obviously never occured to him. Not impressed with this one at all, not one bit! He didn't have the proper armband so he tried to use a rubber glove at a tourneque. This flew off and nearly took out another patients eye* so he used a length of rope. Blood nicely bottled he got ready to go, leaving me to undo the arm strap and decorate myself, the bed etc as the blood spurted** everywhere - because he'd left the needle in my vein!
*(OK, I exaggerated that bit)
** As any trained nurse, doctor or plubologist will agree, the spurting bit I did not exaggerate. It fountained out!
