Friday, 22nd September 2006: On fickle surgeons

***   Diary index   ***

*Mutter*

The urology surgeon chose (one of) the moments I needed to take a leak. I wasn't at my bed, awaiting to be honoured by his eminent (unplanned) visit, so he beggered off. HE was not going to wait THAT long, HE is a busy, busy man. They can be a fickle lot surgeons, apparently. And that's coming from a consultant!

Visitors

Louise and the kids paid me a surprise visit today. Apparently mum had the idea I was terrified of Monday's operation, which was news to me. I tend to be blazé about such things. NIL by Mouth, that scares me, I'm one of life's munchers, by op's, nah!
Anyway, Louise made one good suggestion - maybe one ureter has been blocked for ages and when the other packed in, well…
