26th September 2006: Grumbling
*** Diary index ***
Not a happy bunny today, for the most part
Great I have some 'nice' mouth ulcers from the oxygen mask and my throat is still red raw from the breathing tubes. And I'll just leave it to your imagination as regards the the delicacy of my still bleeding nethers
.
What I am passing is literally blood red, a deep rich colour that has me muttering vague expletives in concern. Naturally they are monitoring it and I am reassured to know that it is common after such a long prodecure - only about 50 or 60% of it is actually blood. Okayyy! Suffice to say that when I do try to walk, by catheter bag in tow, I take tiny shuffling steps. Much more so than usual at any rate.
[ In did, of course, clear up over a couple of days ].
I was wheeled off for an ultrasound just before visiting time. I wouldn't have minded so much but they left me in the corridor for 1¼ hours because they were short a radiographer and running behind schedule.
*Mutter*
If they knew they were so far behind they could have collected me a lot later, I wasn't going anywhere in a hurry! I'm not very tolerant, nor patient when waiting, nope!
*Grumble*
As a tentative first impression the right kidney looks fine now and the left one seems to be holding together under the strain.
Fortunately my mum was still up here when I got back to the ward. She also cheered me up by telling me a hilarious joke about a foul beaked parrot!
Mwahaahaha!
Visitors
Mum cheered me up loads!
