Our statement of adherence to privacy and data protection

We take the privacy of our visitors very seriously. Please read the following policy to understand how we will treat your personal information when you use our site. Any changes to this policy will be posted on our website.

At present this policy is limited to this static page. We will obtain a valid, browser aware, XML privacy policy as soon as we've finished re-designing the web site and know what else, if anything, needs to go into it.



Cookies, ours
We haven't actually gotten round to writing any yet. When we do they will relate to making your visit(s) better and to improving the site for all. None will ever required, but the voluntary information we are likely to use could include:

Your name - for a simple "Welcome back, Paul", "Welcome, guest"

Your style sheet preference - for example, whether you want bigger or smaller text.

Note however that some third party scripts may create cookies. (See also Google below).

We use third-party advertising companies (primarily Google) to serve ads when you visit our website. These companies may use information (not including personal details such as your name, address, email address or telephone number) about your visits to this and other web sites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you. Regarding Google, the use of "interest-based advertising" and the DoubleClick DART cookie

Blogs, Forums and Gallery
These can gather information such as user name, IP addresses and time stamp, but the use of this information is limited to banning spammers and/or abusive posters. This is a family site and as such we have zero tolerance for spammers, flamers and similar undesirables.

Caveat:
Note that this privacy policy does not cover comments, open forum posts and the like as we have little control over what free form text you choose to submit, beyond removing offensive material when we see it.



Feedback form
We took this out but when/if we replace it, it will be limited to optional boxes for your input and requests.



Web Analytics and Web Site Logging
We do use Google Analytics and other logs purely to monitor traffic: the number of visitors, countries of origin, overall bandwidth used etc. This "visitor information" can include data such as the time and date, the IP address of the computer used and hosting details and is periodically deleted. This is intended only for demographic statistics to improve the site and does not record any personal data.



Summary and contact
This is a non-commercial site and does not actively gather personal data beyond simple usage demographics (ie in February we had 100,000 visitors, 34% were from the United States), however if you still have any concerns, please reach us via our contact page
