Our statement of adherence to privacy and data protection
At present this policy is limited to this static page. I will obtain a valid, browser aware, XML privacy policy as soon as I've finished re-designing the web site and know what, if anything, needs to go into it.
Cookies
I haven't actually gotten round to writing any yet. When I do they will relate to making your visit, or repeat visit better, and to improving the site for all. None will ever required, but the information I am likely to want will be these:
Your name - for a simple "Welcome back, Paul", Welcome, guest"
Your style sheet preference - for example, whether you want bigger or smaller text.
Your browser. This shouldn't make any difference, but it's nice to know as not all browsers are created equal.
The pages and information you are looking for - if I see everyone is interested in one topic I will naturally devote more time to this, as it suitable.
Feedback form
This includes wholly optional boxes for personal details. This is purely to respond to you. I have absolutely no desire nor intention of ever passing details on, to anyone!
Guestbook(s) and Forums
Again, while it will ask for / gather details like password, IP address etc, the only time I will ever use these apart from responding to requests is if I have to ban and/or report someone for abuse. This is a family site and as such I have zero tolerance for idiots.
Web counters and logs
We do use counters to monitor the number of visitors, bandwidth used etc and this is purely used for statistics and does not record any personal data..
Caveat. This may include IP addresses as a security measure in case of abuse.
