Skilling up Jewelcrafting 1-375 (450)
The following is a rough guide to fast tracking Jewelcrafting to 375 in the shortest and cheapest manner possible.
At each stage you may consider amendments depending on your other skills and price on your server. For instance, I found Truesilver Commander's Rings sold very well when I was levelling up and I was getting the materials cheap in Auction house. Similarly, I found [Dense Stone Statue] useful for their healing powers and had stacks of Dense Stone left over from mining so I made those from 225 to 245.
A good rule of thumb in this and all other professions is this ditty: Green is mean
. Green like envy, rather than conservation, naturally. Orange is our friend as every craft is a point. As yellow it's usually fine to continue but weigh up if making another orange item is cheaper than making two yellow (as is often the same at high levels). Once a skill turns from yellow to green, unless there's a very good reason, move on…
Jewelcrafting: 1 to 75
1 to 30: Rough Stone Statue (and/or Delicate Copper Wire)
30 to 50: Rough Stone Statue (and/or Malachite Pendant and/or Tigerseye Band)
50 to 70: Coarse Stone Statue (and/or Bronze Setting)
70 to 75: Coarse Stone Statue (and/or Elegant Silver Ring)
Journeyman Jewelcrafter: 75 to 150
75 to 80: Coarse Stone Statue (and/or Elegant Silver Ring)
80 to 90: Coarse Stone Statue (and/or Ring of Silver Might)
90 to 100: Gloom Band
100 to 110: Ring of Twilight Shadows
110 to 140: Heavy Stone Statue
140 to 150: Pendant of the Agate Shield
Expert Jewelcrafter: 150 to 225
150 to 170: Mithril Filigree
170 to 175: Blazing Citrine Ring
175 to 195: Solid Stone Statue
195 to 210: Citrine Ring of Rapid Healing
210 to 220: Aquamarine Signet of [random enchant]
220 to 225: Aquamarine Pendant of the Warrior
Artisan Jewelcrafter: 225 to 300
225 to 245: Dense Stone Statue (and/or Thorium Setting)
245 to 260: Ruby Pendant of Fire
260 to 280: Simple Opal Ring
280 to 285: Diamond Focus Ring
285 to 290: Glowing Thorium Band
290 to 300: Emerald Lion Ring
Master Jewelcrafter: 300 to 375
300 to 310: Solid Azure Moonstone (and/or Teardrop Blood Garnet and/or Brilliant Golden Draenite)
310 to 315: Jagged Deep Peridot (and/or Bright Blood Garnet and/or Gleaming Golden Draenite)
315 to 325: Glinting Flame Spessarite (and/or Runed Blood Garnet)
325 to 345: Sovereign Shadow Draenite (and/or Smooth Golden Draenite)
345 to 350: Heavy Adamantite Ring
350 to 365: Get designs for and cut rare gems.
Talasite are best as they are cheap and the design for Steady Talasite can be farmed with Halaa Research Tokens in Nagrand
365 to 375 (380): Cut Earthstorm Diamond and/or Skyfire Diamond.
There are currently (May 2008) 14 such designs, many of which can be had with reputation. The best option is to see which is most profitable on your server and aim for those.
You can also farm for the BoP Designs like: Khorium Band of Leaves, dropped by the Vekh'nir Dreadhawks in Blade's Edge Mountains.
