Equipping Meta gems
Meta gems are unique equipped in that they are only found on high-end head pieces like hood and helms. They can be quite powerful and as such have requirements to activate. This is similar to the socket bonus on robes, boots etc, the diffence being the gems have to match all your equipment. For example, Enigmatic Skyfire Diamond requires that - including any gems in your gloves, your robe bracers etc - you have more red than yellow gems overall.
Remember: if the gem requirements are not met, you might as well not have it slotted!
On the positive side, for the purpose of meta-gem activation, some gems count two or even three times:
Orange gems counts as a red and a yellow socket
Green gems counts as a yellow and a blue socket
Purple gems counts as a red and a blue socket
prismatic sphere and prismatic sphere (from enchanters) count as a red, a yellow and a blue socketed gem
