« World of Warcraft Tailoring: Levelling 1 to 375 »
Optimal way to level up Tailoring
- Apprentice 1-75
- Journeyman 75-150
- Expert 150-225
- Artisan 225-300
- Master 300-375
- Grandmaster 375-450
Apprentice Tailor: 1 to 75
[Δ]
1 to (50) [Bolt of Linen Cloth]
It turns yellow at 25 and grey at 50 but it's cheap and you'll need them anyway.
50 to 70 [Linen Bag]
70 to 75 [Reinforced Linen Cape]
Journeyman Tailor: 75 to 150
[Δ]
75 to (105) [Bolt of Woolen Cloth]
It turns yellow at 90 and grey at 105 but again it is cheap and you'll need them anyway.
105 to 110 [Gray Woolen Shirt]
110 to 125 [Double-stitched Woolen Shoulders]
125 to (145) [Bolt of Silk Cloth]
It turns yellow at 135 and grey at 145 but once more it is cheap and you'll need them for the next part.
145 to 150 [Azure Silk Hood]
(You can continue to 155 with these before it turns yellow).
Expert Tailor: 150 to 225
[Δ]
150 to 160 (190) [Azure Silk Pants]
Can make a small profit on these if you disenchant them for [Soul Dust] or [Greater Astral Essence]
160 to 170 [Silk Headband]
170 - 175 [Formal White Shirt]
175 - 185 [Bolt of Mageweave]
Turns fast this one, yellow at 180, grey by 185, but you'll need it so you might as well make it until it's grey.
185 to 200 (230) [Green Silken Shoulders]
You can make a reasonable profit on these if you can disenchant as they give [Vision Dust] or [Greater Mystic Essence]
200 to 205 / 215 [Crimson Silk Pantaloons]
If you have silk cloth left you can continue with this until it turns yellow at 215, perhaps until it turns green, even.
205 to 220 [Black Mageweave Vest / Leggings]
These are nice to disenchant as they give [Vision Dust], [Lesser Nether Essence] (30% chance) or even [Small Radiant Shard] (5%)
220 to 225 [Black Mageweave Gloves]
Again, nice to disenchant. Even now, if I need shards for a Fiery Enchant, I am inclined to buy up mageweave clothes cheap from auction house and disenchant those.
Artisan Tailor: 225 to 300
[Δ]
225 to 230 [Black Mageweave Gloves]
Carry on with these until they turns yellow.
230 to 240 / 245 [Black Mageweave Headband / Shoulders]
These disenchant to give [Dream Dust], [Greater Nether Essence] (30% chance) or even [Large Radiant Shard] (5%)
240 to 245 [Pattern: Tuxedo Shirt]*
245 to 250 [Pattern: Tuxedo Pants]*
250 to 265 [Pattern: Tuxedo Jacket]*
*For some reason these can sell for a huge profit in Auction House. Usually bought by players with bank alts. The Heliscan designs from Tanaris can sell well too, as can the [White Wedding Dress], sold in Stormwind and Thunderbluff.
From: (Alliance): Outfitter Eric in Ironforge (limited supply)
From: (Horde): Josef Gregorian, Lucille Castleton and/or Millie Gregorian in Undercity (limited supply)
250 to 260 [Bolt of Runecloth]
Whether or not you take the Tux route, you'll need a several stacks of these for the next stage.
260 - 270 (300) [Runecloth Belt]
Another nice one to disenchant and recover come costs. Gives:
[Dream Dust], [Lesser Eternal Essence] (30% chance) or [Small Brilliant Shard] (5%)
270 to 285 [Brightglove Gloves]
Disenchants as Runecloth belts
285 to 300 (330) [Runecloth Pants]
Another nice one to disenchant and recover come costs. Gives:
[Illusion Dust], [Greater Eternal Essence] (30% chance) or [Large Brilliant Shard] (5%)
Master Tailor: 300 to 375
[Δ]
300 to (325) [Bolt of Netherweave]
These turn to yellow and green fast but you will need a shed load of these to get to 375 enchant so you may as well make it until it turns grey (at 325). If you are wondering, you'll need about 2,500 (125 stacks) of [Netherweave Cloth] to get to here!
325 to 340 [Bolt of Imbued Netherweave]
You will need tonnes of these, but for now just make them until it turns grey at 340.
From: This pattern, along with the patterns for [Imbued Netherweave Bag] (340), [Netherweave Robe] (340) and [Netherweave Tunic] (345) are sold by Eiin in the Lower City area of Shattrath. You need the mana loom here to make these bolts.
(310 to 345 or so) [Netherweave Bag, Bracer, Belt, Pants, Boots] etc. can also be made
You don't need to for the points, but if you need 16 slots bags anyway, or are levelling up a caster and can use the clothes, might as well make them now.
As an option with or instead of the above:
(295) 300 to 310 [Runecloth Headband]
Can disenchant and recover come if not all the costs. Gives:
[Illusion Dust], [Greater Eternal Essence] (30% chance) or [Large Brilliant Shard] (5%)
310 to 320 [Netherweave Bracers / Belt]
320 to 330 [Netherweave Gloves]
330 to 335 [Netherweave Pants]
335 to 345 [Netherweave Boots]
*As a profit maker, if you have the reputation for the designs, there are also:
335 to 345 *[Silver / Mystic Spellthread] (Scryer/Aldor Honored)
340 to 350 *[Bag of Jewels] (Consortium Honored)
340 to 345/350 [Netherweave Robe]
345 to 355 [Netherweave Tunic]
(15/Oct/08) Here's where it gets interesting… Do you continue now, or wait a few weeks for Wrath and these recipes:
350 Frostweave Net (
)
350 Bolt of Frostweave (
)
365 Duskweave Leggings (
)
365 Frostwoven Wristwraps (
)
370 Frostwoven Shoulders (
)
370 Duskweave Belt (
)
Anyway, continuing on:
355 to 360 [Imbued Netherweave Boots]
360 to 375 [Imbued Netherweave Tunic / Robe]
Turns yellow at 370, but you may as well continue and get it over with.
It should be noted that if you are grinding Sha'tar repution and do a lot of instance in () you can save some money/material costs if you get the following BoP recipes:
355 to 360 [Arcanoweave Bracers] (dropped by Arcatraz Sentinels in The Arcatraz)
360 to 370 [Arcanoweave Boots] (dropped by Sunseeker Astromages in The Mechanar)
370 to 375 (380) [Arcanoweave Robe] (dropped by Pathaleon the Calculator, also in The Mechanar)
Grandmaster Tailor: 375 to 450

To be added when Wrath is out.
